An inmate has been reported dead following an accident involving a car belonging to Embu Prison and a minivan. 8 other inmates and 7 wardens were injured from this accident.
Reports indicate that the driver to the minivan was overtaking before the accident occurred.
Eastern Regional police boss Moses Ombati said the collision took place when the driver of the minivan was overtaking on a corner “The driver was overtaking on a blind corner where the visibility was poor. We urge drivers to be keen while on the road to help avoid unnecessary accidents.”
The casualties who were in the minivan are said to be between 65- 70 years and they were travelling home after a medical check up.
