The Cabinet Secretary of Education Prof. Magoha has released the KCSE 2019 reults at the KNEC headquarters today.
The first student who scored an A 87.159 points from Kabsabet Boys High School is Tony Muluma followed by Barasa Maryanne Njeri from Kenya High school with an A 87.087 points and the third one is with a A (87.080 points) from Kabsabet Boys High School is David Odhiambo.
A total 699,745 of students sat for the exams which were written between November 4th and 27th.51% of the candidates were male while 49% female.
Special need students who sat for this years exams were 1499.
The cabinet secretary also mentioned that 16 subjects improved in performance ,11 dropped and there was no change in 3 subjects.
English, Kiswahili, Chemistry, Biology and Physics were among the most improved subjects.
Females performed more then their male counterparts in English, Kiswahili, CRE, Homescience, Art and design, German, and sign language.
The number of students who scored an A 627 a rise from 315. Those who scored A- were 5996 a rise from 3418.
The number of Candidates who have C+ and above are 125,746 which is a rise from last year.
