Death toll from Kakamega Primary rises to 15,survivor dies after leaving ICU

A Kakamega Primary School survivor Salma Bilal has died. Bilal is said to have collapsed shortly after she was discharged from the Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital ICU.

Kakamega general hospital pathologist Dr. Dickson mchana has  confirmed that she died from a complication arising from lung injuries.

Her demise brings the death toll  to 15 pupils.

The pupils  resumed school on Monday and were welcomed back by the school Bishop, Benson Shishia who then led them in a 3-hour prayer session before the left for their classrooms.

Although investigationsare ongoing, witnesses claim that the teacher was caning some students shortly before the home-time bell rang.

Autopsy report say they succumbed to suffocation.
