According to the DPP, Jumwa fraudulently acquired public funds through Multserve Contractors Limited, a company that was awarded a tender for the construction of Malindi Sub-County Education Office.
“Multserve Contractors Limited received an amount of Kshs. 19,002,000.00/=, out of which Kshs. 2,500,000.000/= was illegally transferred to Hon. Aisha Jumwa Karisa Katana whilst being a Member of Parliament for Malindi Constituency. This amounted to conflict of interest,” said the DPP.
Jumwa is also being accused of concealing the said sums, being proceeds of crime, through depositing an installment towards the purchase of an apartment along Argwings Kodhek Road in Nairobi.
