MP Mpuru Aburi has dared Meru Governor Kiritu Murungi over his plans to have him expelled from Jubilee Party .
Speaking ain Tigania West Sub-County, Mpuru said Kiraitu has been plotting to have him expelled from Jubilee due to his support in national government development projects.
“I am being threatened because of my support for President Uhuru Kenyatta and his agenda, we are all behind our president,” Mpuru said.
Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi has severally accused Mpuru of fueling animosity amongst the Meru subtribes and registering another political party.
Governor Kiraitu wrote to Jubilee secretary-general Raphael Tuju, asking him to expel Mr. Aburi from the party and revoke his nomination as a member of the East African Legislative Assembly.
“I am writing this letter as the Jubilee Governor of Meru to request you to convene the relevant disciplinary organ of the party within the framework of Article 13 and other enabling articles of the Jubilee Constitution, the Political Parties Act, and the Constitution of Kenya, to consider Expelling Hon. Mpuru Aburi from the Jubilee Party under Article 14(7) of the party constitution, revoking his nomination by Jubilee Party as a member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA),” reads part of the letter.
