Man Beaten After Failed Suicide In Nairobi CBD

A man in Nairobi’s Central Business District was beaten up by members of the public after a failed suicide attempt on Monday.

He is said to have climbed up one of the traffic light posts at the junction of Kimathi Street and Kenyatta Avenue. He then tied a noose made of thin rope on the street light.

The man was heard saying “Mimi ni Yesus, Nakuja nyumbani”. Unfortunately, his suicide attempt failed and he fell on the ground.

Members of the public confronted him demanding to know why he tried to take his own life. The man, however, kept telling the irate public that he is Jesus Christ. The commotion attracted the attention of police officers to the scene.

He was eventually subdued and arrested before police took him away from the scene.
