A section of Mbagathi Way in Nairobi will be closed to motorists for two days beginning Saturday, August 29 to Sunday, AugusT from 6am to 6pm on both days.
Kenya Urban Roads Authority (Kura) announced on Wednesday that the closure will enable contractors to install a modern footbridge.
Traffic coming from Lang’ata Road through Mbagathi Way will be diverted to Mtongwe Road and proceed to Mbaruk Road, before joining Muchai Drive then onto Ngong Road at Coptic Hospital.
Those heading to Ngong Town via Ngong Road will have to go up to City Mortuary Roundabout, exit at the roundabout to join Ngong Road again, then drive up to Muchai Drive diversion before proceeding through Mbaruk Road then Mtongwe Road up to Mbagathi Road, which joins Mbagathi Way.
Motorists using Valley Road and those from the Kenyatta National Hospital are advised to use the same navigations provided by the authority.
“Motorists are requested to use alternative routes as directed by traffic marshals. We apologise for any inconveniences that may be caused as we endeavour to provide efficient urban network,” Kura said in the notice
