5 killed, 3008 displaced during the Mau clashes


Rift Valley Regional Coordinator George Natembeya has announced that Five have been killed and 3008 others displaced in the ongoing Eastern Mau clashes,

16 suspects have been arrested and are expected in court on Monday morning.

The clashes have affected 10 villages with the Government saying peace talks in the region will be held from Monday.

The latest comes just a day after Nakuru county imposed a 5-day curfew starting at 6pm to 7am.

During this period, Governor Kinyanjui ordered that  no one would be allowed to carry any weapons including bows, arrows and machetes.
