A family in Nyeri walked in the streets with an empty coffin on donkey hoping to raise enough money to bury their kin.

The deceased died over a month ago but has not been buried due to a huge medical bill he had accrued before his demise.

The family of Robert Mbaoni has been unable to raise Ksh.1.3M even after several harambees and appeals to well-wishers.

According to Patrick Mwangi who has been leading the funeral committee, burial plans were halted after they failed to raise the money to bury the dead in January and only resumed last week .
