FKF Caretaker Committee sets date for league resumption
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Caretaker Committee has set December 4, 2021, as the official date for the resumption of suspended Kenya Premier League fixtures.
The committee led by retired Justice Aaron Ringera Wednesday announced the new dates at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi during a meeting with Premier League club representatives.
Through a statement seen by Standard Sports, the caretaker committee unanimously settled on the date to give clubs ample time to prepare.
“We deliberated on some issues today. Key among them was the resumption date for the top-tier league. We had set it for November 26 but changed it to December 4 to give the clubs ample time to prepare,” FKF Caretaker Committee League, Compliance and Clubs Chairman Ali Amour told Standard Sports.
The meeting also considered league fixtures which it agreed to harmonize in tandem with club expectations.
They resolved to play top-tier fixtures at Nyayo, Kasarani ( both Main and Annex), and the Utalii Sports Club grounds when the league resumes.
Mr. Amour also clarified that no points were awarded to any National Super League side for matches they played after the fourteen-day suspension of fixtures.
