Itumbi Accused of Pocketing Millions Meant for Bloggers Attached to DP Ruto’s Office
Popular blogger, Denis Itumbi, allied to the Deputy President William Ruto is been accused of pocketing millions of shillings meant for bloggers from the DPs office.
According to sources from the office of the DP, Itumbi scammed himself into earning the salaries of 13 ghost workers amounting to 29 million for four years.
In documents seen by the Nation, Itumbi was responsible for the formation of Nexus, a team of 36 professional digital communication experts infamously referred to as the 36 bloggers.
This bloggers’ job was to feature the DP on social media and blogs and keep track of his achievements in the Jubilee government.
Initially, 13 individuals among the 36 declined the offer and Itumbi replaced them with unknown people. Itumbi referred to this group as the Ground Operative which meant they would never be required to be in office or accompany the DP in his travels.
The group would report directly to Itumbi and their salaries would also be forwarded to him. The team was supposed to earn 32000 per month plus per diems and records from the accounts office show that Itumbi received 29 million for the team.
A section of the team is threatening to sue Itumbi.
