A man who defiled a minor is expected to serve 12 years in prison as ruled by a magistrate at a Nairobi court.
Isaac Juma is accused of defiling a girl on March 4, 2017, in Kibera when she came seeking employment to enable her to pay school fees.
On Friday, she told Kibera Senior resident magistrate Barbara Ojoo that she was linked to Juma by her cousin’s friend and after communications, Juma told her to pay him a visit in Nairobi as fast as possible for the commencement of the job.
She told the court that she travelled to Kibera where she found a woman sitting on the sofa in the house where Juma had directed her.
“On arrival, the accused person was not in the house. When I asked the woman, she said she had also come for the job promised by the same man.”
Juma came later and took the other woman outside, she told the court, and then returned alone.
“He came later and took the other lady to a job and asked me to prepare supper which I did. After we finished eating we watched football together until 10pm when he showed me where to sleep,” she said.
“I was shocked when I realised he was to sleep in the same bed.”
In the middle of the night, Juma defiled her, Ann narrated.
The investigating officer from Kilimani police station also testified.
A medical report presented by a doctor from Nairobi Women’s Hospital confirmed that the minor was defiled.
He told the court that he had connections with a number of employers.
“Some of the employers are my friends and usually come to my place of work and requested me to get them some girls to work as house girls,” he told the court.
Ojoo said, “The main charge herein has been proved against the accused person without a reasonable doubt.”
She gave him 14 days to appeal.
