Silverstone suspends operations in three routes

Silverstone Air has suspended flights to three destinations in the country citing poor economic performance these include: Nairobi–Homa Bay, Nairobi–Wajir & Nairobi–Lodwar.

The Homa Bay route was launched two months ago, but has been unable to break even following stiff competition and online attack following a number of accidents that have hit the local airline.

Silverstone Air launched flights to Lodwar in January 2018 while the Wajir route was launched in June this year ostensibly to target traders and tourists.

This comes amid an ongoing audit on Silverstone Air Services by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) following a series of air incidents and a recent accident involving the airline’s planes.
