A Kenyan woman Suamu Nkele has been arrested at the Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok, Thailand over cocaine smuggling.
She was found with more than one kilogram of cocaine in her stomach.
”An x-ray showed she had swallowed 1.2kg of cocaine in a bid to avoid detection,” Niyom Termsrisuk, a Thai official said on .
The woman is said to have arrived in Bangkok from Angola.
She was arrested following a joint operation by the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) and the Air Interdiction Task Force(AITF).
Drug trafficking is a capital offence in Thailand and is punishable by death. According to the Office of the Narcotics Control Board, the woman hid more cocaine in her socks and underwear.T
Suamu Nkele’s arrest comes barely three months after another Kenyan drug mule was nabbed trying to sneak cocaine into Thailand.
