Man and daughter arrested for claiming they have Corona virus cure

A man and his daughter were arrested in Uganda for pretending to be in possession of a cure for the deadly coronavirus.

The two were nabbed on Friday in Mayuge Dsitrict after word went round that they were issuing out supposed vaccines.

Samples of their concoction have since been taken for testing at the government forensic laboratory in Kampala, the country’s capital.

The suspects were however later released on bond even as investigations continue with police yet to establish whether they gave out the alleged vaccine for free or charged people for it.

The World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday announced that 59 cases had been confirmed in Egypt, which remains worst-hit by the virus on the continent.
