NTSA appoints new Director General as Francis Meja’s term ends

In a statement released Tuesday the Acting Board Chairperson Dr. Alice Chesire, announced George Njao as the new DG taking over from Francis Meja .

“Mr. Njao has over 15 years experience in the transport sector specifically in safety management which presents a great opportunity for the Authority. He holds a Master’s degree and a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Missouri State University, USA,” said Dr. Chesire.

Dr. Chesire also commended the outgoing DG, Mr. Meja, “the latest technology in service delivery and consolidated the Authority’s services on one online platform known as the Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS).”

“The Board acknowledges his efforts in restoring sanity on the roads through development of rules and regulations that have greatly shaped the operation of the public transport sector in Kenya,” added the statement.
