Police in Voi arrested three people who were using a church bus to ferry bhang .The three ssupsects who were arrested are Benjamin Mkapa Segea, 22(who is said to be the owner of the consignment),Emmanuel Katana Kombe, 50, the driver and his co-driver Daniel Ngala Mwagandi Giriama, 30.
The DCI ere tipped about this and they intercepted the bus with registration number KCM 182J belonging to PEFA Church, North Coast region.
After conducting the search the police found 230 rolls of bhang hidden in two black polythene bags which had been hidden in a sack containing omena which are estimated to have a value off Sh46,000.
It was later established that the bus was transporting mourners from Kilifi- Homabay and it was intercepted on the Nairobi- Kilifi highway as it headed back to Kilifi.
Taita Taveta police boss Saidi Kiprotich confirmed the incident, saying investigations which could net more suspects are ongoing.
