Dennis Itumbi and four others are no longer State House employees.
A circular from the Public Service Commission dated March 18, 2020 said the positions held by Dennis Itumbi, James Kinyua, Erick Ng’eno, David Nzioka and John Ndolo have been declared redundant.
They held positions as the Senior Director, Communication (Digital, Innovation and Diaspora Communication); Senior Director, Communication (Events and Branding); Senior Director, Communication (Speech Writing); Director, Communication (Events and Branding) and Principal Information Officer (Head of Digital Strategies).
“The contracts of the underlisted officers be terminated in accordance with the termination clause in their contracts to facilitate payment of gratuities on prorata basis,” the circular reads.
In the letter addressed to Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, the commission’s Chief Executive Simon Rotich said the positions have been abolished pursuant to Section 28 of the Public Service Commission Act 2017 upon reorganization of Government.
“Take necessary action,” he said.
Itumbi has deleted the title of PSCU Director from his Twitter page: it now reads: “Pig farmer”.
