Chris Obure, Robert Bodo freed on bail


Nairobi businessman Chris Obure has been granted a cash bail of Ksh. 2M and two sureties of similar amount by a Nairobi court.

His bodyguard who was also charged with the murder of Kelvin Omwenga has also been freed on a Ksh.500,000 cash bail and two sureties of a similar amount.

Justice Jessy Lesiit further forbade the two from holding any firearm until their case is heard and determined.

They were also ordered not to interfere with any of the witnesses including relatives of the deceased who are set to testify in the trial.

The court also asked the two to surrender their travelling documents to the court and at the same time, file an affidavit showing where they will be living during the duration of the trial.

The two suspects are believed to be behind the cold-blooded killing of Omwenga in Kilimani, Nairobi.
