Forty three terror suspects arrested in Eastleigh were on Wednesday arraigned before a Nairobi court and they will be detained for two days pending investigations.
The suspects including students from Alison and Atlas Colleges were arrested on Tuesday.
At least 15 of the suspects are accused of being in the country illegally and without any documents.
Also arrested were the Directors of the said colleges and three managers of Atlas College who are being investigated for the offence of offering training without registration.
At least 15 of the suspects are accused of being in the country illegally and without any documents to ascertain their nationality.
The Prosecution had asked the court for five days to allow detectives from the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) conclude investigations.
The defense however opposed the prosecution’s plea: “There’s no terrorism charges that have been mentioned by the investigating officer. They are not linked to any terrorism groups so we are opposing the application to have the accused detained for 5 days.”
