Health workers employed on contract at the Pumwani Maternity Hospital are protesting over unpaid salaries which have accumulated upto four months.
The 70 medical practitioners have not received their salaries since November 2019.
He, however, claimed that the payment process was ongoing and that the nurses would be paid by the county government.
“Yes they have not been paid since November but the process of payment is ongoing at the county government. We forwarded the list of those nurses and doctors and anytime from today they will receive their pay,” said Mosiria.
The administrator insisted that operations at the hospital are ongoing as usual , noting that the workers on strike are hired on short-term
“I want to inform members of public that there is no strike in Pumwani. Our county nurses, doctors and other cadres are at work,” he said.
