New app to assist Uganda livestock farmers

A farmer can get all the necessary information he or she needs to learn about cows at the comfort of his house using a wearable sensor. He gets data on his  phone of the patterns such as eating, drinking, resting, fertility and temperature.

The technology summarizes data and it can predict problems such as digestive issue and provides the farmer with an online veterinarian.

This is a mobile application in Uganda that shows how artificial intelligence and big data are helping small scale farmers address productivity challenges.

In Kenya some counties have come up with SMS platforms which they ask questions and get answers at the comfort of their houses and also Whats app groups were an expert responds to queries by farmers.
