Kericho Governor Chepkwony urges Gov’t to increase DP Ruto’s security

Kericho Governor Paul Chepkwony has appealed to the government to increase Deputy President William Ruto’s security following the murder of Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei.

Speaking on Sunday in Konoin, Bomet, Governor Chepkwony said the current political situation in the country is not safe for the DP “especially considering his firm stand on how the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) forums are being conducted.”

“When your security person is killed, what else will follow? What was the real intention of eliminating someone who is just assigned to perform his duties?” Posed the Kericho County boss.

“I also have a security person, but if he is killed then I’m the real target.”

This comes after DP Ruto previously revealed  that only death can stop him from the quest.

“Pengine waniue mimi, lakini sitarudi nyuma, I know there is a plot but I want to tell them that I will not back down, I will not be intimidated,” he said.
