Kisumu County Assembly has taken disciplinary action against six MCAs over violent chaos witnessed on September 10 this year during election of acting Speaker Elisha Oraro.
Several MCAs engaged in a fist fight destroying various material in the assembly and assaulting the a sergeant-at-arms.
Other MCAs including Habil Nyasuna of Masogo Nyangima Ward, Gard Olima of Central Nyakach, Roy Sano of Kajulu Ward and Jackton Ogendo of Nyalenda A were also suspended for three sittings and committee sessions.
The committee also agreed that Silas Kapesa, a sergeant-at-arms who was filmed being assaulted by Market Milimani MCA Seth Kanga be awarded Kshs 60,000.
