Mitsubishi introduces electric vehicles in Rwanda

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation,  launched the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) Outlander Mitsubishi Model 2019,in an effort to promote green Rwanda whose main aim is to reduce toxic emissions in the atmosphere.

 

 

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV uses batteries that can fully charge in 4 hours. When fully charged, it can run for 60Km. This vehicle’s battery can be charged diesel or petrol.

The Minister of infrastructure in Rwanda, Ambassador Claver Gatete said these vehicles contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases.

In Rwanda, there are currently four similar vehicles, each selling at a cost of about 70million Rwandan francs which is equivalent to 7.86 Million ksh
