William Ruto Gradually Wins Over Grassroots Leaders
Deputy President, William Ruto met with over 10 Kisii leaders on Monday,16 August to popularize his presidential bid.
Led by Kisii Deputy Governor the leaders included politicians, grassroots, and opinion leaders from Kisii. Through his Twitter, the DP promised to work with leaders from different counties in order to reunite and rebuild the country.
“Leaders must step up and commit to working together. They must offer authentic leadership and come forward with well-grounded thoughts that will rightly serve the interests of the people. Efforts to place the economy central to our agenda will further reunite and rebuild our country,” tweeted Ruto.
Those who were present at the meeting include Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, Bomachoge Chache MP Alfah Miruka, South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro, Former South Mugirango MP Omingo Magara, Judge of the East African Court of Justice Charles Nyachae, Lawyer Cliff Ombeta, several MCAs, among others.
The DP has declared that he will be running for the Presidential seat come 2022 and he has been meeting with leaders from different counties to popularize his agenda.
Last week he meet with leaders from Kitui county.
