“You are a Thief”, Itumbi Issues Tough Response to Matiang’i, Refuses to Apologize
Renowned blogger and close ally to DP Ruto, Dennis Itumbi has today, Sunday shared his response to the Ministry of Interior Fred Matiangi.
Through his lawyer V.A Nyamodi Advocates on Wednesday, August 11, in a demand letter, the CS wanted Itumbi to pull down his tweets referring to him as a Ruaraka land thief.
In his letter, Matiang’i termed the tweets as defamatory. In his response, the former statehouse employee chose not to use any lawyer and it’s evident that he is not ready to pull down the tweets.
Attaching the letter on Twitter, Itumbi referred to the CS as a thief and said that the Ruaraka Case is supported by court evidence.
“Anybody who conceives, initiates, coordinates, and executes theft is a thief by all definitions. WAZIRI, DR FRED OKENG’O MATIANG’I, YOU ARE A THIEF. The context of “Ruaraka Land Thief” is… supported by a court decision which you have not appealed against” read the tweet
In his letter, Itumbi insisted that in his mandate as an investigative journalist, he used his time and resources to get to the bottom of the matter and enlighten the public on the Ruaraka land scandal which is of great public interest.
The self-declared hustler nation spokesperson said that his comments on the issue are actuated solely on facts in public domain. The former journalist also linked Matiang’i to a land in Turkana involving a public University that was lost during his tenure in the Ministry of Education and promised to reveal more information very soon.
Itumbi in his letter further talked about the issue of stopping Deputy President William Ruto from flying
to Uganda, the arrest of Turkish businessman Harum Aydin and the illegal deportation of lawyer Miguna
Itumbi also accused the CS of amending the Kenya penal law and creating an offense called “ BEING A
FRIEND OF OR ASSOCIATED WITH WILLIAM RUTO”.
Itumbi further warned the CS to refrain from writing text messages to him because that amounts to intimidation and threats and asked him to only communicate to him through letters and Twitter.
Itumbi has declared that he is ready to face Matiang’i in court and shed more light on this case.
